Electric Bike FAQ

To qualify for PayLater, you must:
– Be an existing Grab user for at least 6 months.
– Be aged 18 years and above.
– Have a fully verified Grab account.
– Ensure your Grab app is updated to the latest version.

If eligible, activate PayLater via the Grab app:
1. Open your Grab app and tap on Finance.
2. Select Enjoy Now and Pay Later under Explore GrabPay.

If PayLater doesn’t appear, we’re unable to offer this service at the moment due to internal review policies.

Placing an order is simple:
1. Confirm Details: Contact us via WhatsApp to confirm your model, color, and any options.
2. Make a Deposit: Transfer S$100 to our company account using Paylah, Paynow, or bank transfer:

3. Send Reference: WhatsApp us the transaction reference number, and if applicable, provide these details for LTA ownership transfer:
– Owner’s Name (as per IC)
– Owner’s IC Number
– Mobile Number

– Delivery Address (if delivery is required)
4. Schedule Delivery: We’ll confirm the delivery schedule.
5. Complete Payment: Pay the balance upon receiving your order.

Singapore has strict regulations to ensure safe and responsible use of e-bikes and PMDs. Here’s what you need to know:

  1. LTA Certification:
    All e-bikes and PMDs must be LTA-approved. Check for certification before purchasing to ensure compliance with local laws.

  2. Riding Zones:

    • E-bikes (PABs): Allowed on roads, park connector networks (PCNs), and cycling paths. Not permitted on footpaths.
    • PMDs: Allowed on cycling paths and PCNs only. Not permitted on footpaths or roads.
  3. Speed Limits:

    • Footpaths: 10 km/h
    • Cycling paths: 25 km/h
  4. Mandatory Gear:
    Riders must wear a helmet when riding on roads.

  5. Legal Age:
    You must be at least 16 years old to ride an e-bike.

By following these rules, you can enjoy safe and lawful rides in Singapore.

1. **Free Delivery**: For orders above S$500. A fee of S$30 applies to orders below S$500.
2. **Delivery Timeline**: Local deliveries take 3-4 working days once payment is received.

  1. Warranty Coverage:

    • 1-Year Warranty: Covers motor (1 year) and battery/electrical parts (6 months).
    • 6-Month Warranty: Covers motor (6 months) and battery/electrical parts (3 months).
  2. Warranty Exclusions:

    • Negligence or misuse (e.g., dents, water damage).
    • Man-made damages or self-disassembly.
    • Wear-and-tear items like punctured tires or scratches.
  3. Requesting Warranty Services:

    • Present the warranty card, dealer information, and original receipt.
    • Altered or missing documents will void the warranty.
  4. Service Costs:

    • Parts are covered under warranty; labor costs are excluded.
    • Pickup/return services: S$35 per way for PAB/PMD, S$45 for PMA.

Choosing the perfect e-bike depends on your needs and lifestyle. Consider these questions:
1. **What’s the intended use?**

2. **What’s the range?**
– Choose a battery capacity that suits your daily distance.

3. **What terrain will you ride on?**
– Urban roads, hilly areas, or off-road trails? Select a model designed for your terrain.

4. **What’s the carrying capacity?**
– If you need to transport items, opt for models with accessories like rear baskets or racks.

5. **What’s your budget?**
– Ensure the model you choose fits your budget while meeting your requirements.

No additional registration is needed! Since July 1, 2020, all PAB/PMD units sold by Maximal.sg are pre-inspected and registered with the LTA.

**Ownership Transfer Process**:
1. Upon payment and delivery, Maximal will transfer ownership to you.
2. You’ll receive an SMS/email from the LTA with a link for Singpass login.
3. Log in and follow the steps to complete ownership transfer.

**Fees for Ownership Transfer**:
– **S$11** for PAB
– **S$7** for PMD

Yes, wearing a helmet is strongly recommended, especially when riding on roads. A good-quality helmet can significantly reduce the risk of head injuries in case of an accident. Always ensure your helmet is properly fitted for maximum protection.

It’s safer to ride alone on an ebike unless your model is specifically designed to carry passengers. If carrying items, ensure they are securely stored in baskets or racks to maintain balance and stability while riding.

E-bikes are permitted on roads, cycling paths, and park connectors as indicated by signs. Avoid riding on footpaths or restricted areas to ensure safety and compliance with local regulations.

No, it’s best to avoid charging your ebike or PMD when you’re not around. Always monitor the charging process, and for added safety, use a smoke detector near the charging area to prevent potential fire hazards.
